The project was to provide complete interior design services for the conversion of a 1000 sq.ft. unfinished basement into a family room.  The project included the inclusion of facilities for exercise equipment, billiards, and entertainment.  Design included all construction, stairs, lighting, finishes, colors, and furniture selections, including design of custom furniture pieces.

The design divides the space into three parts, connects them with a circulation space, and then draws the resulting geometry in marble and oakAll oak moldings were custom-designed, with new blades fabricated according to our drawings.

The client is a contractor for Donald Trump, and was also the general contractor for 750 Lexington Avenue.

" We discovered a geometric order implied by the window bay.  Using this as the center, we implied three distinct zones without wall separations, by using color, light, and finishThe exercise area was set apart from the others by oak and frosted glass panels which roll into a storage pocket at one end."
