This project was to provide winter protection for the client's many terrace plants, and to provide a place for transplanting and potting.  Services included complete design, detailing, and construction administration.  We worked with local greenhouse owners to provide the optimal orientation and design for the plants.

The design uses cream limestone to match the existing house, with details inspired by the missions of San Antonio.  The greenhouse structure uses wood frames, detailed to evoke traditional arched greenhouses.  The design provides for a future water-wall cooling system.

"This was a delightful project because it allowed us to show that a design can be very simple and functional, with beauty derived from the materials and construction details."

We later designed the client's swimming pool & pavilion and his business headquarters.
