Chef Ana Martínez first learned to cook from her mother and grandmother as a child in México City, where hre father was a prominent architect. She later studied gastronomy at the prestigious Universidad Iberoamericana, and then completed her professional training in the elegant restaurant El Lago de Chapultepec and in the Hotel Presidente Intercontinental. Since arriving in San Antonio in 1998 she has prepared special dinners for private groups and catered receptions for the Mexican government and cultural centers in San Antonio. In response to the demand, Ana began a catering business in 2002 and in November 2003 founded La Merienda Catering. At the same time she has been a consulting chef at Restaurant L'Etoile and Aldaco's Restaurant, and was Chef de Cuisine at Acenar Restaurant on the Riverwalk. Selected clients and events
